Pioneer Baseball League

Since 1939, the Pioneer Baseball League has been a cornerstone of professional baseball across the Mountain States, nurturing talent in communities from Billings to Missoula, Boise to Colorado Springs.

Originally an MLB-affiliated rookie league, the Pioneer League underwent a pivotal transformation in 2021 when it became an independent MLB Partner League. This shift marked a new era in the league’s 80+ year history—and with it came a clear need to refresh and realign its brand identity.

Here’s what we did…

Project 13 collaborated closely with League stakeholders including President Mike Shapiro to craft a modern yet timeless visual identity that conveys the league’s rich history (founded in1939!) while representing their teams across Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and California. 

We provided the League with the visual assets needed to activate its refreshed identity across platforms and environments—everything from social media look and feel to apparel, signage and even the league’s baseballs. While the league handled website development independently, we equipped them with creative and consistently designed assets for use across their digital channels.
