AHRC NYC

For over 75 years, AHRC New York City has supported people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across all five boroughs of New York City.

A chapter of The Arc New York, AHRC NYC advocates for equitable access to education, employment, housing, and community life—serving more than 15,000 individuals and families annually.

AHRC NYC’s website is more than just a digital presence—it’s a vital hub for connection, clarity, and support.

With 18 core services defined by five categories, the site serves as a trusted resource for individuals, families, and caregivers navigating important decisions. Whether seeking support with education, housing, employment, or family services—or looking to request care, register for camps, or make a donation—the experience must enable users to quickly find what they need, when they need it.

Here’s what we did…

Project 13 worked closely with AHRC NYC’s internal stakeholders to oversee the end-to-end redesign, development, and content migration of the organization’s website—creating a dynamic, user‑friendly platform designed to improve access to resources, promote AHRC’s mission, and increase community engagement.

The new site includes:

  • Interactive features, such as event registration, online donation processing, and newsletter sign-up
  • Streamlined navigation across all core programs, services, and events, enabling visitors to reach key content in just a few clicks.
  • Mobile responsiveness, ensuring seamless browsing on smartphones and tablets.
  • Enhanced accessibility, built to meet web accessibility standards and support users with disabilities.

In addition to leading the redesign and development of the AHRC NYC website, Project 13 provides ongoing website maintenance and technical support which helps ensure the site remains stable, secure, and up to date through:

  • Proactive technical support for feature enhancements and troubleshooting
  • Platform and security updates to ensure compliance and protected user data
  • Scalable improvements over time—allowing the site to evolve as programs, services, and user requirements evolve
  • Minimal-to-no downtime with regular monitoring and proactive issue resolution

The launch of the redesigned AHRC NYC website coincided with the organization’s 75th anniversary, marking a major milestone in its legacy. Project 13 created the anniversary branding—which visually celebrates AHRC NYC’s history while highlighting its continued commitment to innovative services and solutions, accessibility, and community.
